The royal suburb of Peterhof is a series of palaces and gardens laid out on the orders of Peter the Great. These palaces and gardens are sometimes referred as “Russian Versailles”. The palace-ensemble along with the city centre is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 1 : St.Petersburg
On arrival you will be met by our representatives who will then escort you to your hotel. After check-in go on a complete city tour of St.Petersburg and visit places like the Kazan cathedral and the Winter palace. Then you will proceed to Vasilievsky Island where you will visit the Peter and Paul fortress and Peter and Paul cathedral.
Day 2: St.Petersburg
In the morning explore one of the largest art collections in the world located in the Hermitage. This world renowned museum holds over 3 million pieces of art from antiquity to modern day works. Due to the enormity of this establishment it will take a full day to be able to take in some of its magniﬁcence. Use your free time in the evening to enjoy a ballet or opera at the Mariinsky theory. You can savour Russian cuisine as during the intermission you will be served traditional Russian appetiser.
Day 3: St.Petersburg
After breakfast you will be heading out of the city into the countryside to visit the Imperial suburb of Pushkin, also used to be known as Tsarskoye Selo.
Here you will be able to see a royal countryside residence in all its glory. With enormous collections of art on display in the Catherine’s Palace, the centre of the suburb, and in the gardens. Enjoy the beautiful fountains in summer. You will also visit the Amber Room, a unique work of craftsmen from the days of old. This place was looted by Nazis in WWII and only recently rebuilt in 2003.
Day 4: St.Petersburg
On this day you will visit Peterhof, the summer residence for the Russian royalty. This truly majestic place is covered in parks, palaces and fountains. Take a tour through Grand Palace – the largest and most famous of the palaces which is still used up to this day for large receptions. Afterwards proceed to Nizhny Park (Lower Park), a masterpiece of landscape design adorned with 150 fountains and 4 monumental cascades. In the evening use your free time to take a boat cruise along the Neva River and canals to enjoy the evening view of the city.
Day 5: St.Petersburg
On the last day you will have a free and easy programme that will allow you to enjoy the city at your own pace and do some last minute shopping before ﬂying off. You can also apply for additional tours given that you have time before your ﬂight.
